Structural Engineer

Mr. James Trant is a Professional Structural Engineer for Borrego Solar based out of the New England office. Jim is responsible for the structural evaluation of all Borrego Solar projects. Jim is a licensed Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer in 24 states and the District of Columbia. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Northeastern University. He was the past Chair for the Coalition of American Structural Engineers and is an active member of the Structural Examination Committee for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. Jim authored Architectural Roofing & Waterproofing Magazine’s 2010, volume 2 article Calculating the costs of Solar: Pre-Designing a Roof to Support a Photovoltaic Energy System, and authored Roof Loads and Solar Energy for Archi-tech’s June 2010 publication.
