Mr. Askins has been in the solar industry since 1999. When he first came to Borrego Solar in 2005, he started as an installer in the field. He was quickly promoted to Project Manager and eventually worked his way up to Regional Operations Manager for Northern California. Mr. Askins joined Gro Solar in 2009 when Borrego’s former residential sector was relinquished. In 2011, Mr. Askins returned to Borrego Solar as a Senior Project Manager in our Northern California location. Prior to joining Borrego, Jason worked with Solar Thermal Parabolics for industrial and commercial applications, including but not limited to Federal Penitentiaries and Community Centers. He also has experience installing and servicing solar hot water, radiant floor and hydronic heating systems. Mr. Askins has installed or overseen the installation of more than 650 solar electric systems, accounting for more than 3.5 MW, throughout his career. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Renewable Energy (Industrial Technology) from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management. He is a licensed Electrical & Solar Contractor in CA and is NABCEP certified.
