Mr. Randy Batchelor currently serves as a Senior Design Engineer for Borrego Solar. As a member of Borrego Solar’s New England photovoltaic design team, Randy works with the east coast project developers on the designing and engineering of large-scale ground-mounted solar energy systems. He’s been working in the solar energy sector since 2006. Prior to joining Borrego Solar, Randy worked for a non-profit organization, managing the installation of over 100 solar power installations on schools and educational facilities. His work in teaching educators, students, and school administrators about renewable energy has received national acclaim. Randy has designed solar energy systems on both a kilowatt and megawatt scale, and he is a certified installer with the North America Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University, and he completed coursework in Photovoltaic System Design at the Oregon Institute of Technology in Portland.
