Borrego Solar is a licensed and bonded California contractor and a valuable member of the renewable energy industry. We believe that training and certification is the best way to insure that solar photovoltaic systems are built to the highest standards, and designed for a 30-year lifetime.

ABC is a trade organization for builders and subcontractors. ABC’s mission is the advancement of the merit shop construction philosophy, which encourages open competition and a free-enterprise approach that awards contracts based solely on merit, regardless of labor affiliation.
Both branches of Borrego Solar are members in good standing of the local chapters of the Better Business Bureau.
At CalFinder we act as an independent third party, initially screening and continually monitoring all contractors within our network. We've personally checked the work of each contractor, and conduct extensive, ongoing interviews with their current and previous clients to ensure that they adhere to the highest standards of quality and customer service.
CALSEIA is the California Chapter of the Solar Energy Industry Association. The organization is an advocate for both the photovoltaic and solar thermal industries. In recent years CALSEIA has helped to pass legislation such as the California Energy Commision rebate program and the $3 billion California Solar Initiative.
As of March of 2006 Borrego Solar is a Alameda County certified Green Business. As part of this certification process we went through and extensive audit of all of our business practices. As a result we have developed better recycling processes for our construction and office waste and we have reduced our overall energy consumption. We are currently in the process of trying to make our entire business operation carbon nuetral through the purchase of carbon offsets.
The Diamond Certified award is presented only to those companies that rate “highest in quality” — in the 90th percentile or above — in an independent, detailed customer satisfaction survey of their customers. Borrego Solar Systems achieved the highest possible rating: a perfect 100% score from previous clients who, when asked if they would use the company again, replied yes.
Environment California is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization. They combine independent research, practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for California’s environment. Environment California draws on 30 years of success in tackling the state’s top environmental problems.
NABCEP, or the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, provides a set of national standards by which PV installers with skills and experience distinguish themselves. There are currently less than 200 NABCEP certified installers in the entire country.
SEIA is the national trade organization for the solar industry. SEIA’s primary goal is the adoption of legislation that supports the growth of the solar industry.
Borrego Solar is a licensed C-46 Solar contractor. This license class is for both the photovoltaic and solar thermal trades. Borrego Solar has held this license in good standing for over 20-years.
