Proven Reliability

Solar electric systems are a proven technology and are extremely reliable. Photovoltaic (PV) cells were originally developed for use in space, where repair is extremely expensive, if not impossible. PV still powers nearly every satellite circling the earth because it operates reliably for long periods of time with virtually no maintenance.

Solar panels have no moving parts, and therefore no potential points of mechanical failure. Recommended preventive maintenance is usually limited to semi–annual rinsing of the panels with water and monthly reading of inverter production. Every Borrego Solar system carries a 10–year warranty on all parts and labor. Our solar panels carry a 25–year warranty from the manufacturer.

Maintenance Services

For larger systems or systems with difficult access, Borrego Solar offers optional maintenance contracts. Borrego Solar will schedule annual or semi–annual maintenance visits. During these visits Borrego Solar will provide the following services:

• Clean the module array
• Check all electrical connections
• Log lifetime and instantaneous power and energy output
• Check for any plant growth causing shading
• Write a report on system status and any corrective actions if necessary
