Solar power contributes to their goal of providing reduced–rate housing that is economically and environmentally sustainable.
Build Inc. is a commercial and residential developer based in San Francisco. Build Inc. contacted Borrego Solar to discuss ways that renewable energy could be incorporated into some of their projects. They had heard about rebates and tax credits available to California businesses investing in solar, and wanted to learn more.
The new Caltrans District 11 Office project entailed construction of a District Office complex, and storage facility of approximately 30,000 square feet. One of the most prominent features of the new district office is Caltrans’ solar electric (photovoltaic) grand trellis. The trellis appears to reach out to drivers on Interstate 8, providing a powerful reminder that there are alternative solutions to the existing energy crisis.
California Metals, Inc. operates a diversified full-service recycling and metal sales operation in El Cajon, California. Founded in 1978, the organization specializes in the recycling of scrap metals, the recycling and re-marketing of IT surplus, and the sale of new metal. The organization’s recent PV installation is consistent with its mission of helping the community at large to transition to a sustainable model of commerce.
The Hacienda Mobile Home Park of Barstow is on 6.5 acres of a 9-acre lot located in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. For almost 50 years, the park has provided homes for thousands of low-income individuals including single adults, families, and seniors. Hacienda did their research and found solar power to be a cost-effective, environmentally responsible way to reduce the park’s dependence on the supply and prices offered by the local utility company.
