At the beginning of 2012, the Easthampton Landfill fixed-tilt ballasted solar energy system was the largest of its kind in the state of Massachusetts, totaling 2.3 megawatts DC. The municipality was able to take advantage of Borrego Solar's integrated solar financing to go solar for zero capital outlay.
